Red Berry Sangria Compote

Red Berry Sangria Compote

Red Berry Sangria Compote Recipe

1 cup Red Wine (Grenache or Pinot Noir)

2 cups Mixed Berries

1 Pear

1 Star Anise

1 tsp Orange Zest

¼ tsp Cinnamon or 1 Cinnamon Stick

This red berry sangria compote recipe is so dang easy to make so I’m not going to attempt to make it sound sophisticated. Just throw all the ingredients in a pot and let them simmer until the sauce is reduced. You don’t want to reduce all the liquid of course because you’ll want some of that sauce to flavour whatever you decide to use this compote on.

Once cooled down, you can keep the compote in a mason jar for 2 weeks in the fridge and for up to 6 months in the freezer. You’ll see that I used this red berry sangria compote as a filling with some french vanilla cake and mascarpone frosting. If you want to pair this compote with something delicious, I suggest my fluffy pancake recipe.
